J. Corey Feist, JD, MBA

J. Corey Feist, JD, MBA is a healthcare executive with over 20 years of experience. He is the Co-Founder of the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation and Corey recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of the University of Virginia Physicians Group, the medical group practice of UVA Health composed of 1200+ physicians and advanced practice providers. Corey has authored numerous publications on the need to support the well-being of the healthcare workforce. He has served as an expert in multiple forums including as a keynote speaker, panelist, and moderator as well as provided formal testimony in the United States Congress.

Corey holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the UVA Darden School of Business. He is also the past Chair of the Board of the Charlottesville Free Clinic. Corey holds his Masters in Business Administration from the UVA Darden School of Business, his Juris Doctorate from Penn State Dickinson School of Law and his Bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College.

Jennifer Breen Feist, JD

Jennifer Breen Feist, JD is a lawyer in Charlottesville, VA specializing in finance, real estate and wealth management. She is the Co-Founder of the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation and sister of Dr. Lorna Breen. She is also a Co-Founder of Women United, an organization dedicated to supporting causes that benefit women and children in Central Virginia. Jennifer has served in various roles on multiple non profit boards including Girls Inc., TJA United Way, Venable Elementary School PTO and Girls on the Run. She holds a Juris Doctorate from Penn State Dickinson School of Law, a BS in Political Science from Elizabethtown College and an Honorary Doctorate of Humane of Letters from Elizabethtown College.

McKenzie Harper

McKenzie Harper is the Program Manager for Education at the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation. She holds an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies, Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Certificate in Enrollment Management. McKenzie’s previous roles have included classroom teacher, Assistant Head of School, Curriculum Coordinator, and Director of Admissions. Her work at the Foundation focuses primarily on development of learning pathways within the Learning Management system, including curriculum design and presentation development; collecting and sharing program impact data; project-planning for Student Advisory Groups and Ambassador Programs; and developing tools and processes that effectively evaluate DLBHF services and offerings.

Stefanie Simmons, MD, FACEP

Stefanie Simmons, MD is the Chief Medical Officer at the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation and a board certified emergency medicine physician and health care executive. Stefanie serves as the Vice President of clinician engagement for Envision Physician Services, serving over 26,000 physicians and advance practice providers with a focus on professional well-being, including translational research and programs designed to bring well-being best practices to clinical environments. She serves as lead clinical faculty for the Clinician Experience Project Wellbeing program. Stefanie earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Michigan and completed residency training at the University of Michigan/St.Joseph Mercy Medical Center emergency medicine residency.

Shelley Ellis

Shelley Ellis is a Program Manager at the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation who assumes an integral role in nationwide public policy reforms to support the well-being of the healthcare workforce. She invests her time and energy contributing to the well-being of others, exemplifying her compassionate and altruistic nature. Her journey has taken her across four continents, providing her with a global perspective and an appreciation for diverse cultures. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Communications from Old Dominion University.

Gabby Forward

Gabby Forward is our Social Media Manager based in New York, NY. Since the start of her career, she has worked in both consumer and healthcare social media strategy. Gabby has a passion for promoting mental wellbeing within the healthcare space and has flexed her social capabilities leading the social media strategy for the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation since its inception. Gabby also provides strategic insights and leads the development of social channels & content for various clients outside of her foundation work.

Gabby is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality studies.
