Covering The Foundation and Health Worker’ Mental Health and Wellbeing

When covering healthcare workforce mental health and suicide, sharing stories responsibly and safely can serve as an avenue for providing resources, and save lives.

To help ensure safe and impactful coverage, we encourage media and partners to follow evidence-based reporting standards. Resources like the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s “Ethical reporting guidelines for media” provide tips to promote help-seeking and connect audiences with support.

HOW TO REFERENCE THE FOUNDATION

In written pieces, the Foundation’s preferred naming convention is to write “Dr. Lorna Breen Foundation” the first time we are referenced, and then “the Foundation” (capitalizing F) for subsequent mentions.

If using an acronym after the first mention, the Foundation prefers LBF.
