Take Action to Support Nurses’ Mental Health
Like everyone, nurses deserve the right to pursue mental health care without fear of losing their job. However, overly invasive mental health questions in licensing applications prevent nurses from seeking support and increase the risk of suicide. One third of nurses report that impact on their state license to practice is a barrier to accessing mental health care.
Join us in calling upon State Boards of Nursing to be a Wellbeing First Champion and audit and change any inappropriate questions or stigmatizing language around mental health in their licensure applications that are not consistent with national best practices.
Together, we can ensure that nurses receive the support they deserve, unburdened by the fear of professional consequences and stigma.
