Take Action to Support Pharmacy Professionals’ Mental Health
Like everyone, pharmacy professionals deserve the right to pursue mental health care without fear of losing their job. However, overly invasive mental health questions in licensing applications prevent pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from seeking support and increase the risk of suicide. Pharmacists experience a higher rate of suicide than the general population.
Join us in calling upon State Boards of Pharmacy to be a Wellbeing First Champion and audit and change any inappropriate questions or stigmatizing language around mental health in their licensure applications that are not consistent with national best practices. Together, we can ensure that pharmacy professionals receive the support they deserve, unburdened by the fear of professional consequences.
